Clients and partners in projects June has worked on include: the Department of Family and Community Services, the State Library of Queensland, the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, the Office for Women (Queensland), the Stanthorpe Shire Council, the Australian Red Cross, Telstra Corporation, Learning Network Queensland, and the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Wollongong.Through her work with rural and regional communities, June is aware of the complex social, economic, technological, environmental and political challenges and issues affecting these communities.
She has been a member of the Australasian Evaluation Society since 2002 and is an active committee member in its Queensland Branch. June is also a member of the International Development Evaluation Association, and the Action Learning, Action Research Association.
In addition to her PhD, awarded in 2001, June's qualifications include a Master of Business in Communication Management, a Graduate Diploma in Communication Practice, and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in sociology and media and communication studies.
Using participatory and critical methodologies, June's doctoral study was an evaluation and impact assessment of a major action research project that aimed to increase Queensland rural women's access to ICTs for personal, business and community development purposes. June was one of the Chief Investigators on this project which won a Queensland Information Technology and Telecommunications Award in the category 'Regional Community Innovations' in 1997.
June is the author of over 40 publications, including refereed papers in international journals and conference proceedings, invited book chapters and research and evaluation reports.
